We found that these 9 frames most accurately represent the majority of the conventions that we included in our project.
- High angle shot, portrays protagonist as vulnerable, subverts the common convention of a female damsel in distress
- Close up shot, protagonist showing emotion, subverts stereotype that 'boys don't cry'
- Handheld mid shot from behind, establishes setting, shows protagonist in a playful mood as he walks into focus
- Handheld mid shot, again shows protagonist in a positive mood, reflected by light colours
- Low angle mid shot, introduces therapist in a position of authority, warm colours contrast the serious atmosphere
- Layered high angle close up shots, portrays hallucination, provides a sense of disorientation which reflects the protagonist's experience
- Handheld mid shot, tracks the angry/stressed emotion of protagonist
- Close up shot, protagonist breaks fourth wall inspired by the French New Wave movement
- Dutch angle mid shot, a freeze frame from the orbital shot which increases the shot variation
